A dozen years

You can read this post here. If you need an invite just let me know what email address you would like me to send it to.

Here's the Deal....stolen from Brad Godfrey

Our blog is going private (secure). There are a couple of drawbacks of doing this, but I think I have some good solutions:

1. We will need to give you access. This one is easy to solve. If you are listed on our blog-list or have commented before, or we know you read our blog we'll give you access. If we missed someone, it won't be intentional, so please just let us know by commenting and we'll "hook you up" with access.

2. (The bigger issue in my opinion). Private blogs no longer notify our readers when a new post was posted. You know what I'm talking about. You have to actually click on all of your friends' blogs to see if they have posted anything new. No more notices in your blog list (or RSS reader). What a pain! So, I think I have a solution for this. Here's what we plan:

I have created another blog that will be our secure blog. So the blog you are currently reading will continue to be public. The purpose in keeping a public blog is to notify you of new posts on our private blog. So when we post something new on our private blog, we'll put a quick note in this blog (the public blog) that a new post is available to read and we'll put a link to it. All you need to do is click the link and assuming you are logged in, you'll see our private blog. PROBLEM SOLVED.

So that is what we'll be doing. I would really suggest that all of our friends who have private blogs do the same. It will make it so much easier to get notified when you have posted something new.

There are a couple of ways to do this. One is to create a new private blog like we did. There is an option to "Export" your blog from your old blog and then "Import" that blog into your new private blog. Your readers won't need to change their link on their blog, because it will already link to your public blog (old blog). The other way is to create a new public blog and notify everyone to update their link to your new public blog in their blog-list (or RSS reader).

Thanks Brad & Shay for this idea. And I hope everyone understands that I ACCIDENTALLY don't have ANY OF YOU in my list to see my blog right now. Please send me an email, or a message on facebook, or a comment on here so I can invite you!

Private Blog Time!

Everyone! I've made the blog private. I've followed some great advice and kept this blog so you can see updates. I will post on here every time there is a new post on the real blog.

In exporting the blog, I accidentally deleted who was invited to see my private blog.

Please send me an email so I can add you to the list of people who can view the private blog.

Love you all!!

PS
THERE IS A NEW POST ABOUT MATT! You should read it. It's good.
